Abstract

Correlation of basic principles of modern leadership and co-operative tradition, by which managers of all links of the system of consumers' co-operatives are guided, is analyzed in the article. Conclusion, that the tradition of the democratic system of elections of the governing bodies in the co-operative system contributes to the formation of leaders of new paradigm, is drawn. The formation of leadership competence of managers is based on the model of five levels of the hierarchy of managers, according to which the leaders of the" fifth level" have a high level of leadership competence.
